You might already know but there is also a small role for Henry Rollins in SOA.

Henry had a big part in State Of Alert if you ask me.

    Loved Prometheus.

Lots of questions, but damn, really liked it.

If you’ve seen Prometheus, you might find this interesting:

Went to see Prometheus yesterday. Could have done without the 3d stuff (and the anoying glasses that come with it) but what a movie! Very good. I expected more action, but this was just awesome!
And that article about the movie is just great. Thanks Pim!

I thought the 3D was pretty good to be honest. It never felt like they just put in 3D for the effect, but in a couple of parts it really worked. But it would probably have been fine without the 3D too indeed. I’m curious to see how long that 3D stuff will be around. Will they push it to the next level or will they forget about it after a while?

But yeah, would love to see a sequel ;)

Stumbled on the youth adventure drama Alabama Moon on Belgian TV this afternoon and enjoyed the hell out of it. A young kid lives in the Alabama forrests with his trapper/conspiracy theorist dad. After his dad dies he has to make it on his own and gets a determined, nasty sherrif after him. Somewhere between Stand By Me-light and Benji with kids instead of a dog. And John Goodman was in it, all be it not nearly enough, which is always a plus. Could have done without some the tearjerking near the end, but still, a nice surprise.

Thought the 3d in Prometheus was hardly noticeable, compared to the Spiderman trailer that i saw before it. First half of the movie was cool, second half was terrible if you ask me.

Tv shows wise i’ve just “finished” parks and recreation, great show especially Ron Swanson.

That’s why I thought it was good David, because it wasn’t overdone (for the effect) like you see in a lot of the more recent movies.

Ron Swanson is great indeed. Parks & Recreation is pretty good itself. Not one of my favorite series, but I keep watching the new episodes.

Snow White & The Huntsman: fine entertainment. Nothing of substance, but it all looks brilliant and I was thrilled throughout. The only thing I don’t understand is: in what universe is Kirsten Stewart (Snow White) hotter dan Charlize Theron (Evil Queen)? :-?

    I guess that’s why it’s a fairytale, rigth? ;-)

I saw Conan this weekend. I was afraid it could only disappoint, since I really like the old version. I think it’s a good decission to not make a remake of that movie, but make a new movie. What you get is a movie that lasts 1hour and 45 minutes of action. Non stop! Liked it for that!

I enjoyed Snow White & The Huntsman, except maybe for the last part of the movie.
Other than that I’m watching the first season of Workaholics, I wasn’t thrilled by the first two episodes, but now I’m into it. I’m still a bit annoyed by the “frat bros” mentality though.

Oh, and yesterday I was bored & alone at home so I decided to watch Twilight. Yeah…don’t ask.

    #8437 Quote

Next time you’re that bored, try staring blank into space. Same effect. ;-)

Mentioned this before, but since it’s coming out this month: What do you guys think about the Spiderman reboot?

Finished The X-Files again. And I actually didn’t think the last episode was that terrible this time. Not great, but not as bad as I remembered.

    Spoiler
The whole “exploding cancer man” thing was though.

Also going to check out the documentary of season 9 and the second movie. And after that I’ll just have to wait a couple of years until I can watch em all again :)

Went to see the Tim Burton expo in Paris. Despite a long que to get in and it was pretty crowded, I enjoyed it a lot.

Well worth the visit if you are in the neighbourhood.

Tim Burton, know a lot of people love him, but that’s just not for me. Tried a couple of movies, but I now know I just better stay away from them.

Closed this box (after watching the season 9 documentary) tonight… Going to miss it ;)

Next season is going to be the last Dexter season. Which is a good thing I think, because now they can shake things up. I love Dexter, but I really hope the new / final season brings something new.

I saw Iron Sky yesterday. I am a sucker for this kind of completely over the top movies so I shouldn’t be suprised at all.

Yesterday I saw Underworld: awakening. I pretty much like the whole Underworld serie and this one is no exception. And it has Kate Beckinsdale again. You don’t hear me complaining… :-)
I also saw Devil (boring) and Legion (not much better…) drinking a couple of beers called Lucifer, Satan and Hel en verdoemis. Yesterday was a dark day I guess. ;-)

Since we’ve been talking about the X-Files a couple of times in th is topic:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-X-Files-3-in-2012/264967838232 (read/look at the picture in the header)

Apparently a third movie might be happening after all, just not in 2012.

Watched Old Dogs (John Travolta/Robin Williams), mwah movie, where have the times gone that you could watch movies with them and they would always be good…

Also watched some Sons of Anarchy and started a new serie, The Newsroom. Great pilot episode, looking forward to see more.

Yes I can, news anchor has a major meltdown in an interview and tries to get back on top after most of his team quitting because of that.
Watched the first episode, but really liked it a lot. Second episode aired yesterday, but I have to go see Manliftingbanner tonight, so have to wait till tomorrow evening.

Dunno if hardcore/punk documentaries fall into this thread, but whatever :) Saw a couple recently, so…

She’s A Punk Rocker U.K.: Documentary made by Zillah Minx of Rubella Ballet about the women in the early UK anarcho punk & new wave scene (late 70s/early 80s). Featuring people such as Vi Subversa (Poison Girls), Poly Styrene (X-Ray Spex, rip), Eve Libertine & Gee Vaucher (Crass), Siouxsie (Siouxsie & The Banshees), Gaye Advert (The Adverts), etc it gives a pretty good insight into that scene and the place women had in it… I enjoyed it quite a bit, altho visually they went overboard with weird effects which made me cringe at times. Pretty short at under an hour and adding more live footage would’ve helped a lot, but a nice docu nonetheless.

xxx All Ages xxx: The Boston Hardcore Documentary: I was really looking forward to this one, so I ordered it as soon as pre-orders went up, and it arrived a few days ago. Featuring people from bands like DYS, SSD, Slapshot, Gang Green, Jerry’s Kids etc as well as other scenesters from those days, you get the point… No Al Barile tho, apparently he refused. Most of the live footage (and there’s a decent amount of it) looks and sounds amazing especially considering their age and all, the interviews are great and most people have coherent things to say. I loved this docu from start to finish. More than recommended.

The Spiderman movie is pretty bad. I don’t see the point of revisiting the story if you’re gonna do a worse movie than Sam Raimi’s. I hate that the Lizard looks like shit compared to the comic book. I would have hated the movie if I didn’t have a crush on Emma Stone…

I’m excited about the new WEEDS season; I haven’ watched the 2nd episode yet though.
