    Again, i apologize for the namecalling, it was uncalled for and stupid.
    Agreeing to disagree is probably best. :-)

    With those enthousiastic kids i meant the entire modern metalcore/deathcore/suicide silence worship/whateveryouwannacallit movement, not just the bands incorperating beats and electronics, by the way. And i fully agree that a lot of those bands aren’t very good. But there also are a lot of hardcore bands that aren’t very good, so yeah…

    I guess I’m basicly an old guy who’s sick and tired of heaving to defend that A Day To Remember is one of his fav current bands. ;-)

    Did I just witness an oldschool discussion? People speaking their minds? Awesome! ;)

    I would also agree with DOGHEAD about the thing “speaking your mind”. Even though you have radically different opinions, it’s always important to have a discussion about it. At least when you’re discussing something anyhow. That notion is fading away quicker and quicker unfortunately.

    These bands aren’t hardcore and no one (including themselves) calls them hardcore. I understand why one doesn’t like these bands (musicwise, lyricswise and mentalitywise) as I also understand why the general person doesn’t like hardcore. That’s merely a matter of taste.

    Also, these bands are part of a different scene (can’t imagine these bands on the same bill as let’s say Trapped Under Ice) and imho you’re seeing ghosts if you think these bands are a threat to the current “true” hardcore scene and all that it stands for. Therefore, I can’t understand why you would be upset (even in the slightest way) about these bands. Although these bands and hardcore bands share a common ancestor somewhere in music history, they’re are as closely related to eachother as humans are to rabbits.

    Does Flo Rida also make you mildy irritated? Do you also get it on your tits when Rihanna is on?

    I’m not even “in the scene”. I just think it’s bad music and I don’t think we’re better off today then we were decades ago. Because I wouldn’t know.

    I don’t tend to look it up. But why would it matter to you?

    It doesn’t (and shouldn’t) matter to me. But I guess you don’t tend to look up trancecore bands aswell? Then why would it matter to you if other people like those kind of bands?

    You gotta admit that that Flo.Rida ditty with the whistling is awefully catchy.

    No doubt there is already a partycore band playing or planning a cover version. :-p

    Trancecore? Did someone coin that term already?

    It’s a shame that Eurocore already has been used, would have been perfect.

    When I think of trancecore I think of this:

    Or Ruffneck and the likes of it.

    @Pim I think that’s this image:

    Ravedigger is of course terribly bad (deliberately) and a joke. Was supposed to be a one off thing, but people kept booking them…

    Was so bummed when I went to a rave here in town back in the nineties where Elstak came and he didn’t bring Sadie.

    He also did a PussyLounge party together with DarkRaver in a local disco here once. Elstak, DarkRaver playing al sorts of Bonzaii classics. AND strippers. Oh what a night. :twisted: 8) (y) :-P

    But to be honest, I was more a Charlie Lownoise & Mental Theo guy. Wonderful Days, most ass kicking song of the 90′s :-P

    So calling these bands ‘hardcore’ makes some sense maybe? ;)

    Im not known for my good taste in music, I enjoyed parkwaydrive shows in the past and I can see why people find these bands amusing or whatever. But this has really nothing to do with hardcore imo.

    too much words to read it all, really like the Oil reference though ;-)

    I do think it is very funny that every generation of hc kids has the same ‘music/message’ discussion. I too had that discussion number of times and have come to the conclusion that there is no true definition of hardcore that counts for everyone. It is just a matter of taste, and you can’t argue with taste.

    If, however, there are kids out there who call shitty-clean-vocals-mosh* hardcore and for that reason get into older hardcore, I salute that. I don’t think we should choose who gets in our little club, it should be all-accessible…

    * joke ofcourse

    So a nay on hardcore goes dance… Metal goes dubstep anyone? :-P

    ‘Show me where cro-mags got shit for being too metal. ‘

    They got plenty of shit for being far too metal. In fact some kids honestly believe that after Age of Quarrel they stopped being hardcore.

    On topic: this genre sucks. Big time.

    Did you search for “Eurohouse” and/or “Cro-Mags” or something that you upped this old topic? :)
